Our Process

Preliminary meeting

Our first meeting, at our expense and without obligation, is for the purpose of establishing whether or not we are right for you. There is no charge to you for this meeting – we will bear the cost of this. If you decide to become a client, our fees will be agreed with you before we commence work for you.

The purpose of this is to identify your personal circumstances, needs and objectives, consider your attitude to risk in terms of investment, time frame and capacity for loss. It will establish what benefits would result from using our services, outline associated costs such as initial and ongoing fees and give you the opportunity to appoint us

Unlike many IFA firms in the UK, our remuneration model is not dependent on the sale of a plan or policy and so there is no risk of a conflict of interest.

In order to do this, all of our work is subject to an Adviser Charge which will be agreed with you at outset and will depend on the size and complexity of your affairs. This can either then be paid directly by the client or if a product is required, this can be paid by the product-based charge.

Once we have agreed on terms, confirmed them in writing and you have signed client & fee agreements, we proceed to our next meeting at which we gather full and comprehensive financial information

Factfind meeting

This could involve a specific review of particular issues you feel require attention or could involve a complete overview of your entire financial situation. Any or all of the following areas could form part of our review service and we would agree on this at the preliminary meeting:

Investment Review –

An objective assessment of your risk tolerance and complete review of existing investments held.

Pensions Review & Retirement Planning –

A review of existing pension arrangements, guidance on generating income in retirement, including conventional annuity purchase, investment linked annuities, capital protected annuities, impaired life annuities & more.

Protection Review –

An assessment of any life or health protection policies in place, the level of cover provided and any identified shortfalls.

Estate Planning Review –

A review and assessment of the impact of Inheritance Tax on your estate and possible mitigation solutions.

Ongoing Review and Management

An ongoing review service has always been integral to our business as we believe that this adds significant value to both individuals and businesses.

The purpose of this is to develop our planning strategies over time to take account of your changing circumstances and objectives as well as developments in economic conditions or legislation (taxation etc). It also gives us the opportunity to give you access to new ideas and financial products.
